About the RAAS Lab
The renin-angiotensin aldosterone system (RAAS) is a hormone driven system that controls a series of reactions regulating blood pressure, fluid and electrolyte balance and systemic vascular resistance. The RAAS Analytical Laboratory is an academic service center at the University of Kentucky specializing in LC-MS/MS-based quantification of the RAAS using a Thermo TSQ Altis Plus Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer. The lab provides specialized testing services which can elevate research and analysis. Our mission is to provide high quality analysis to researchers based at the University of Kentucky and beyond!
Access New Technology
Thanks to our partnership with Attoquant Diagnostics GmBH (Vienna, Austria), deeper analysis is now available right on campus! At the RAAS Analytical Laboratory, we provide LC-MS/MS-based measurement of multiple angiotensin peptides + aldosterone in a single analytic run. Our services cab be quantified from serum or heparin-plasma and are used in both human and animal research to generate biomarkers of RAAS activity in blood.
